About This Mission - Excerpts from the classified document "R's Operation Manual"

Humanity has developed many weapons through the battle against unknown life forms called "Bydo" that attack from far away in the universe.
"Force," "Wave Motion Cannon," "Missile Weapons," and "Bit".
The development of an "ultimate interchangeable fighter" that could equip all of these weapons was the objective of the previous mission, "Last Dance".
Finally, humanity achieved it and succeeded in eradicating the Bydo.

The mission "R-Type Final 3 Evolved" aims to compile a military history of humanity's battle against the Bydo for posterity and pass on anti-Bydo weapon development know-how.

The process of compiling a military history requires the reliving of previously undisclosed records and memories of battles.
As new records of the battle are still being found, the compilation process will likely be a lengthy one...
